'Gentle Giant' Lightning Looking For New Home After Owner Could No Longer Care For Him
The 3-year-old mastiff is described as an affectionate dog who loves treats, attention, and making new friends.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — "Gentle giant" Lightning is looking for a new home after his owner could no longer care for him, shelter staff said.
The 3-year-old mastiff was brought to the North Shore Animal League America's Port Washington campus through no fault of his own.
"Of course, that's a sad situation," shelter staff said. "But one thing is certain: Lightning was loved."

Lightning loves treats and spending time with people. He enjoys being around his human companions and getting plenty of attention throughout the day, according to shelter staff.
He also likes making new friends and showing off his affectionate personality. Shelter staff described him as "an absolute mush" who "thrives on attention and affection."
