HCFAS Helps Revive Young Man Struck by Vehicle in Huntington Station

Members of Huntington Community First Aid Squad found the man lying motionless in the street Tuesday afternoon.

Members of Huntington Community First Aid Squad were able to revive a young man found lying motionless in the street after he was struck by a vehicle in Huntington Station on Tuesday afternoon.

A man in front of Huntington Community First Aid Squad headquarters, located at 2 Railroad St., informed members of an accident near the intersection of Railroad Street and Lowndes Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m.

An ambulance and a first responder vehicle with advance life support personnel were dispatched to the scene of the crash to find an unconscious and unresponsive man, approximately 18-years-old, who was involved in a collision with a vehicle while attempting to cross the street.

Crew members quickly immobilized the young man and performed a trauma examination. He was then transferred to the ambulance where he regained consciousness and was able to communicate with the crew, HCFAS reports.

The young man was transported to Huntington Hospital to be treated for a possible head injury.
