League and Library Explore 'How to Get Democracy Working Again'

The event takes place Wednesday.

The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Port Washington-Manhasset and the Port Washington Public Library will jointly explore the question, “How to get democracy working again,” on Wednesday at 1 pm, at the library.

First they will screen the new documentary Patriocracy, which analyzes the roots of the political polarization, claiming that it has rendered the nation dysfunctional. According to the LWV, the film also offers sound solutions for restoring civility and functionality to American democracy.

Discussion will follow along with a presentation, "How to Increase Voter Participation," by New York State LWV President Sally Robinson, and according to the LWV, is the first step in setting our country back on course.
