Local Memorial Day Firework Show Postponed
As the chance of rain over the weekend grows stronger, a local event has been canceled.
TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY — Town of North Hempstead officials have announced that the fireworks event will be postponed due to the weather.
The Memorial Day Commemoration and Fireworks were originally scheduled for May 23 at North Hempstead Beach Park.
A new date is currently still to be determined.

The event was planned to be an America 250th-themed celebration to honor fallen heroes beginning after dusk. It was going to kick off with musical performances by an 80s cover band, and have food for purchase from vendors like Dom's Chicken Fingers, Monarch Foods, and Angie's Empanadas.
North Hempstead Beach Park is located at 175 W Shore Rd. in Port Washington.
