N. Hempstead Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting
This is the sixth consecutive year the Town has received this honor.

For the sixth year in a row, the Town of North Hempstead was the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the 2015 fiscal year.
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada gave the town recognition because of its commitment to strong fiscal practices.
Many Town leaders are pleased to receive this honor once again.

The Town was judged by an impartial panel to see if it met the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial standing.
The nonprofit GFOA, which serves approximately 17,500 government finance professionals, looks to enhance and promote the professional management of governmental financial resources by identifying, developing and advancing fiscal strategies, policies and practices.
