New Year's Lane Closures for Roslyn Viaduct

The reversible travel lane pattern will remain in effect on the new north bridge of the Viaduct through Jan. 2 as follows:

2 westbound lanes, 1 eastbound lane: 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.

2 eastbound lanes, 1 westbound lane: 3 - 10 p.m.

1 eastbound lane, 1 westbound lane: 10 p.m. - 5 a.m.

The above travel lane pattern is in effect Monday - Saturday. On Saturday evenings at 10 p.m., the one eastbound lane, one westbound lane pattern will remain in place through 5 a.m. on Monday mornings.

This same lane pattern will also remain in effect from 10 p.m.

Thursday evening, Dec. 31, through 5 a.m. on Saturday morning, Jan. 2.

One lane in each direction will remain open during the hours of 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 5 a.m. - 6 a.m. (Monday - Saturday) so the lanes can be re-positioned back into the successive reversible lane pattern.

Construction signs remain in place along Route 25A/Northern Boulevard in advance of the work zone to alert motorists that there is road work ahead. Motorists are urged to maintain the reduced speed limit of 30 mph within the work zone as posted.

With the opening of the north half of the bridge, the pedestrian access to the sidewalk on the south side of the bridge was eliminated and will not be restored until the south bridge and new sidewalk are completed next year. 

Motorists traveling eastbound on the new half of the Viaduct are able to access the exit ramp (located slightly east of its original location) to East Broadway and Bryant Avenue during the reconstruction of the south portion of the bridge.

CHURCH STREET

There is no direct access from Church Street onto the Roslyn Viaduct.  

Motorists should not cross the Do Not Enter sign on Witte Lane to access the Viaduct.  Cars heading south on Church Street must make a right turn onto Witte Lane to Bryant Avenue and then make a left turn onto Bryant Avenue to continue through Roslyn to access westbound Northern Boulevard.
