Nicholas Mastrocinque, of Port Washington, Dies at 56

The Schreiber graduate had a long history with the Port Summer Show.

Nicholas Mastrocinque, a long time resident of Port Washington and a Schreiber 1974 graduate, passed away on Aug. 25 after a brief struggle with cancer. He was 56.

At the local level, Nick had a long history with the Port Summer Show, and attained fame in high school when he built – and flew, a gyrocopter, which gave him fame in Newsday. This feat catapulted him into the field of Engineering where he worked as a senior design engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft for over 30 years.

Nick is survived by his siblings: Andrea Mastrocinque-Martone, Mark and Joseph. He also has a son, Thomas.

A private burial is planned in Connecticut.
