Operation Christmas Child is a Year-Round Effort

Volunteers package donated items in shoeboxes to send to needy kids around the world.

Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton was proud to participate in Operation Christmas Child of Sea Cliff's July collection drive. This global organization collects a wide variety of items, including personal items such as small toys, notebooks, personal hygiene items and more. Items are gathered together based on the child the gift will be given to put into shoeboxes. These gift-filled shoeboxes are distributed by Samaritan’s Purse to needy children around the world.

“There are a lot of worthy causes to donate to or volunteer for, but Operation Christmas Child offers such a special, loving gift that needy children look forward to opening and enjoying,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said.
