Popular Korean Kuku Restaurant Opens New Nassau County Location
The spot brings Korean fried chicken, bibimbap, tofu soup, and other traditional dishes to the North Shore.
ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A popular Korean restaurant has made its way to the North Shore in Roslyn Heights.
Kuku Korean Cuisine recently opened its doors in Roslyn Heights, making the restaurant's second Long Island location after Huntington, and its fourth location overall.
Founded in 2021 in Long Island City, Kuku was created by co-founders James Chen and Chris Park, who said they wanted to build a restaurant that showcases authentic Korean cuisine in a welcoming and approachable setting.

"The idea for Kuku came from our passion for restaurants, hospitality, and Korean cuisine," Chen said.
The menu features a variety of traditional Korean dishes, including Korean fried chicken, tofu soup, bibimbap, grilled meats, seafood pancakes, bossam, and other home-style favorites.

"We wanted to introduce more people to Korean favorites," Chen began, "while building a restaurant brand that focuses on quality, consistency, and warm hospitality."
For Chen, who has lived on Long Island for eight years, opening in Roslyn Heights is especially meaningful.
"This community feels like home," he said.
Chen said he and Park are passionate about the restaurant industry despite its challenges, citing the opportunity to bring people together through food and share Korean culture with new audiences.
"Food brings people together, and we love seeing customers enjoy our dishes, celebrate special moments, and come back with their families and friends," he said. "The restaurant business also allows us to create jobs, support local communities, and share Korean culture through food."
In addition to Roslyn Heights and Huntington, Kuku operates locations in Long Island City and Forest Hills. Chen said he hopes the expansion will introduce more Long Islanders to Korean cuisine, which he described as bold, diverse, and often featuring healthy dining options.
The Roslyn Heights Kuku Korean Cuisine location is at 96 Mineola Ave.
