Port Washington-Based Spectrum Designs Raises More Than $120K To Support Neurodiverse Workforce

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Port Washington-based Spectrum Designs raised more than $120,000 during its annual Summer Soirée fundraiser, "Color the Night," held in Sands Point.

The nonprofit custom branding and merchandise company employs 94 team members, with more than 70 percent identifying as neurodiverse. The organization said 100 percent of sales go towards expanding its inclusive employment model and workplace culture.

Hosted at the residence of John and Amy Beyer, the event drew more than 140 guests, including local elected officials, council members, and Congressman Tom Suozzi.

Spectrum Designs Co-Founder and CEO Patrick Bardsley thanked the Long Island community for its continued support.

"Nights like this are an important reminder of what's possible when people gather around the shared belief that every person deserves the dignity of work," he said.

The fundraiser honored board member Denise Smith for her dedication to the nonprofit and hundreds of hours of volunteer service.

"I can't say enough about what this leadership has accomplished," she said. "They took this organization from walking to running — and now they're doing marathons."

Lindsay Waxman, an administrative assistant at Spectrum Designs and a proud employee with a disability, said the company has provided her with meaningful opportunities, lasting friendships, and professional recognition, including an award from the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID).

"I love being part of a company that is inclusive and provides meaningful jobs for people like me," Waxman said.
