Port Washington Girls Tennis Holds Free Tennis Clinic
Varsity athletes worked with young tennis fans.

The Port Washington Girls Varsity Tennis team held a free tennis clinic for the Port Washington community on Saturday Sept. 27.
Nearly 25 young tennis fans came out and got to hit with the varsity girls tennis players. Each of the five courts had a station where the students worked on forehands, backhands, volleys, serves, and games. There were two or three varsity girls on each court to help run the drills.
The participants left with a huge smile on their faces and even received a trophy for participating.

“There is no better feeling than giving back to the community,” said Coach Shane Helfner. “ While we always try to be successful on the court, our program is already standing out by doing events like this and reaching out to the Port Washington Community.”
