Port Washington Man Facing DWI Charge After Crashing Mercedes Into Manorhaven Building: PD
A Port Washington man is accused of driving while intoxicated during a crash that sent his car through the front of a building, police say.
MANORHAVEN, NY — A Port Washington man is facing a DWI charge Thursday after his Mercedes-Benz swerved off the road in Manorhaven and crashed into a building, police said.
Nassau County police said 66-year-old Matthew Meyran was driving along Shore Road in Manorhaven at 12:18 a.m. Thursday when his 2019 Mercedes left the roadway and hit the building, causing “extensive damage.”
The building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported, police said. After further investigation, Meyran was arrested and charged with a DWI while the Manorhaven building inspector began evaluating damage to the building, police said.

According to police, Meyran is being charged with DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC above 1 percent. His arraignment was scheduled for Thursday, police said.
