The site used violent crimes per 100,000 residents and property crimes per 100,000 residents to get its results, and Port Washington topped the list as New York's safest.
With a population of 19,384, Port Washington saw 25.8 violent crimes per 100,000 and 510.7 property crimes per 100,000. Overall, HomeSnacks rates Port Washington's safety a 9.5 out of 10.
