So many people are asking how they can help their Port Washington neighbors most in need. The Community Chest of Port Washington has created the Port Washington COVID-19 Community Response Fund.
We ask for your donations now to help your neighbors in need during this unprecedented emergency. To contribute, Click Here to make a donation to the GoFundMe campaign. Your donations are tax deductible. You can also mail a check to Community Chest of Port Washington, 382 Main Street, PW NY 11050 (write COVID-19) in the memo, or make a donation on the Community Chest web site Here.
Many companies are doubling employee donations to COVID-19 related causes; please consider showing this to your employer.

This Fund will be used to make COVID-19 emergency grants for food needs, housing costs and other expenses to existing community and faith-based organizations that have strong experience supporting local families, particularly those that are disproportionately affected by this pandemic and its economic consequences, including our frail home-bound senior citizens.
100% of GoFundMe donations received by the Community Chest will be distributed to organizations helping Port Washington residents.

In addition to the GoFundMe effort, the Community Chest has authorized $100,000 of its campaign funds to this COVID-19 relief effort.
The Port Washington COVID-19 Community Response Fund is established specifically to get more targeted charitable resources where needs are the highest. However, this is not the only way to help. This is a critical time for countless individuals and organizations. Please continue to give to organizations you regularly support, and those that need your help at this crucial time.
To provide assistance to the Port community, the Community Chest is collaborating with the Town, school district, public library, police, PW Crisis Relief Team, community and faith-based organizations and more to address the needs of the community as a result of COVID-19. As of now, we have identified Our Lady of Fatima, Outreach; St. Peter of Alcantara, Social Ministry; Littig House Community Center and Port Washington CAC as those who are providing the most critical needs for Port residents at this time.
In addition to the Port Washington COVID-19 Community Response Fund, we are doing the following:
· Mobilizing volunteers to help home-bound seniors with immediate food and other needs
· Tracking all community volunteer activities (including the purchase of local business gift cards, special store hours, donations of masks, gloves, restaurants who are open and delivering, other delivery services, et. al.) at the Chamber of Commerce. Residents are encouraged to share efforts with the Chamber at: Office@pwcoc.org
