Roslyn Students Head Back To School After $250K Sports Complex Grant

ROSLYN, NY — As Roslyn students head back to school this week, student-athletes will have a new sports complex to use after the Roslyn School District received a $250,000 member item grant.

The district celebrated the completion of the Roslyn High School Sports Complex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 7.

The complex includes a turf multipurpose field for baseball, soccer, and marching band activities, along with baseball grandstands, covered dugouts, a batting cage facility, stadium lighting, a dual-use scoreboard, and more.

Students will also have access to seven new tennis courts, a covered pavilion, spectator seating, and lighting for four of the courts.

The complex also has new shot put and discus areas, an ADA-accessible ramp, staircases, and updated walkways.

"This new complex represents more than a collection of upgraded facilities — it reflects our commitment to elevating every student experience," Superintendent Allison Brown said.

The grant was secured by Assemblymember Charles Lavine, who met with Roslyn School District administrators in 2024 after the district first requested the funding.

The enhancements are expected to benefit Roslyn students and the broader school community for generations to come, Lavine said.

"Supporting public education is one of the most important things we can do as elected officials," he said.
