Stop & Shop In Port Washington To Offer Same-Day Pickup Service

The same-day service will use the same Peapod system currently in use.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The Stop & Shop in Port Washington is trying to make grocery shopping even easier. The retail giant announced Monday it plans to offer same-day online pick-up at the location on Shore Road.

Customers will be able to skip the lines and no longer have to meander through the aisles. Furthermore, they'll be able to pick up orders in as little as four hours.

Customers will be able to place online pickup orders through Peapod.com, then head to the store at a selected time and park in a designated pickup spot. After calling a number to alert the store they've arrived, a worker would then load groceries right into the vehicle.

The company noted the service hasn't officially launched yet and a date hasn't been set.

New customers will be able to receive the service free for 90 days by entering a promo code at checkout. A minimum purchase must be met for the service. An online pickup fee will be waived for the first order and on all orders of at least $30 if placed within 90 days of first order. The offer is only valid for first-time residential customers in select zip codes, and it does not apply to alcohol, gift cards, postage stamps or any other purchases prohibited by law. Other restrictions also apply.
