Verbal Argument Turns Violent In Manorhaven, Brooklyn Man Arrested, Police Say

NCPD says a Brooklyn man was arrested after an altercation in a Smoke and Shop Convenience store parking lot.

MANORHAVEN, NY — A Brooklyn man was arrested after a verbal argument turned violent in a Manorhaven Smoke and Convenience shop parking lot, police said.

Nassau County police said on May 29 at approximately 5:01 p.m., officers responded to Shore Road for a disturbance. It was determined by officers that 25-year-old Fared Fahd Ahmed Alsumairi was involved in a verbal argument with a 66-year-old man.

According to police, the argument escalated and Ahmed Alsumairi struck the 66-year-old in the face with a closed fist – which knocked him to the ground – then he struck his vehicle.

Ahmed Alsumairi was located and placed under arrest, and the 66-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.

Ahmed Alsumairi was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, NCPD said. He was arraigned on May 30 at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
