Watch Susan Isaacs' Event at Library on YouTube
Best-selling novelist's Oct. 6 appearance at PWPL can be watched online thanks to Friends of the Library
Susan Isaacs, Port’s own best-selling author, launched the book tour for her brand-new novel, Takes One to Know One, at a special Friends of the Library (FOL) program on Sunday, October 6, before an enthusiastic crowd in the PWPL meeting room. The novel, her 14th, earned rave reviews in Newsday and The Wall Street Journal among other outlets, and was released Oct 1. FOL president Amy Bass served as emcee and journalist Adina Genn interviewed Isaacs on her writing philosophy and work schedule, followed by a Q&A with the audience. Isaacs described, with a wink, the setting of the novel as “a Long Island town vaguely similar to Port Washington.” She reminisced about the numerous mysteries she took out from the PWPL as a young mother that prompted her thought: “I can do that!” The program concluded with a reception in the library’s Adler Art Gallery. The event was live-streamed using technology funded by the FOL, so even if you couldn’t watch it in person or live on your computer you can watch it now on the library’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/library/11050/.
