Woman Finds 2 Intruders In East Hills Kitchen During Overnight Burglary: Police

EAST HILLS, NY — Detectives are requesting the public's help with information after a woman found two unknown men in her kitchen in the middle of the night in East Hills, police said.

At 3:49 a.m. on Monday, a 38-year-old woman was inside her house when she was alerted to her garage door alarm, which connects to the main floor, Nassau County police said.

She went downstairs and saw two unknown men in her kitchen and she screamed for help, police said. The men fled out the rear kitchen door in an unknown direction, police said.

Upon investigation, police determined that three people walked up to the woman's driveway and "rummaged" through her car before going into her home, and $1,000 was removed from her home, NCPD said.

The investigation is ongoing, and no injuries were reported, police said.
