Arrest Made In Road Rage Death Of Brooklyn Firefighter: Report

Faizal Coto was killed by an Infiniti driver on the Belt Parkway Saturday, police said. An arrest was made two days later, reports show.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn firefighter's suspected killer was arrested in New Jersey Monday, just days after their road rage encounter turned fatal, according to reports.

Investigators tracked the unidentified man, wanted for beating Faizal Coto to death Saturday near the Belt Parkway, to the Circle Motor Lodge in South Amboy, sources told News4 New York.

The sources did not reveal the suspect's name and an NYPD spokesperson was unable to confirm the arrest.

Faizal Coto, 33, was beaten to death by a silver 2006 Infiniti G35 driver near 14th Avenue and Bay Eight Street at about 4:45 a.m., after their two cars collided and the men pulled over to discuss the accident, said police.

Emergency responders found the off-duty firefighter lying unconscious next to his car and rushed him Coney Island Hospital where he later died, police said.
