Brooklyn Public Library Evacuated Monday, FDNY Says
Readers were forced out of the Grand Army Plaza library Monday afternoon as emergency responders investigated an unwarranted alarm.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN -- The Brooklyn Public Library was evacuated Monday afternoon when construction work accidentally triggered the alarm, officials said.
Firefighters burst into the central library at 10 Grand Army Plaza just after 12:10 p.m. to investigate what turned out to be a false alarm, said the FDNY.
A Brooklyn Public Library spokeswoman said repairs to the had reopened by 12:35 p.m.

Twitter used Shlomo posted photos of dozens of readers mulling around on the sidewalk as they waited to be let back into the Brooklyn Public Library.
"Evacuating now for unknown reason," @Shlomolevi7 wrote. "Not first time in this year."
