Crown Heights Film Festival to Highlight Artists From Around the Block and World

The free two-day festival will show 22 films from Oct. 28-29.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Twenty-two short films from a collection of international and local artists will be rolling for free next week at the Crown Heights Film Festival.

The two-day event will take place on Oct. 28 and 29 at FiveMyles, the Crown Heights performance and exhibition space located at 558 St Johns Pl. The films will start at 7 p.m. each night, and will run back-to-back for about an hour and forty minutes. Afterward, organizers expect filmmakers to stick around for a Q&A with audience members.

Among the local artists on tap: Liza and Gregg Mann, as well as Benjamin Smith, hail from Crown Heights, while Mesbah Uddin lives in Brooklyn and Mina Mir makes her home in Bed-Stuy.
