Crown Heights Organic Restaurant Closed By Health Inspectors
Organic Love on Utica Avenue racked up 60 violation points during a recent inspection, city records show.
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN -- A beloved organic Crown Heights eatery was shuttered by the Health Department after its second failed inspection of the year.
Organic Love on Utica Avenue near Union Street was forced to close Tuesday when Health Department officials slammed them with 60 points for critical violations, city records show.
Health Inspectors found a supervisor without a food protection certificate, food not protected from contamination, hot foods held at unsafe temperatures and improperly constructed kitchen counters.

This was the eatery's second inspection this year. They racked up 92 points in February when inspectors found evidence of mice and conditions conducive to attracting vermin, records show.
Patch was unable to reach owners for comment, but visitors rave about Organic Love on Yelp, giving many five star reviews for the restaurant's juices, vegan fair and friendly staff.
