Washington Avenue between St. Marks Ave. and Prospect Pl will come alive with local art, flavors, and families.
Event highlights include:
A Taste-Off (Appetizer Contest) 1 p.m. will allow chefs to battle for the prize of "Best Appetizer." Judges will include Prospect Heights Patch ,Brooklyn Exposed and other local food bloggers.
A runway show will feature fashion and hair exhibits by local clothing and beauty vendors.
Catch a full afternoon of performances by an eclectic mix of artists and dancers, including: Vasudeva, FREDRIX…Livendirect, Higher Levin Steel Band, Ekayani Chamberlin, Sharon Azar, Keenan Bristol, and Kid Robot.
Children can participate in an African Dance class taught by Shambhala Yoga & Dance Center, a skateboarding class by Park Delicatessan, a moonwalk, face-painting, balloon art, and free snacks by NSA Supermarket.
Donate blood at “Music Brings Life” Blood Drive, co-sponsored by the New York Blood Center to raise 2012 pints of blood. The first thirty people that donate will receive a voucher for tickets to Nightmare: New York’s Most Horrifying Haunted House.
