Fire Breaks Out In Prospect Heights Restaurant: FDNY

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Dozens of firefighters rushed to Prospect Heights on Wednesday morning after a fire broke out in a local restaurant.

The fire broke out around 11:46 a.m. on the first floor of 267 Flatbush Ave., where Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue is located, according to an FDNY spokesperson.

It started in the ducts and quickly extended to all upper floors in the four-story building, the spokesperson said.

The call first came in for neighboring 77 St. Marks Ave., but was later updated to the Flatbush Avenue address, the spokesperson said.

By 1:20 p.m., 33 FDNY units and 138 firefighters and emergency responders were working on the fire, according to FDNY. It was under control by 1:50 p.m.

There were no injuries, according to FDNY.

Videos from the street show smoke emanating from the roof of the four-story building and a crowd of emergency responders surrounding the business.
