Man Shot To Death In Crown Heights, Police Say
Russell Forrest, 22, died early Sunday after being shot in the chest at the Albany Houses, authorities said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A Crown Heights man died after a shooting at Albany Houses, authorities said.
Russell Forrest, 22, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his chest early Sunday, police said. NYPD officers responded to a call about a shooting on Bergen Street near Troy Avenue and found Forrest in front of a building, according to a release.
Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Forrest had recently been released from a five-year prison term on a burglary charge, the New York Daily News reported. His sister told the Daily News that he was turning his life around.
The gunfire occurred at roughly the same time as another fatal shooting in Brownsville, according to NYPD. A 26-year-old man died in that incident.
