Panel Discussion: Women in Jamaican Prison: Local and Global Implications at the Brooklyn Museum. 3/24 7PM

The rate of incarceration of women is increasing worldwide, while the special needs of women prisoners have received scant attention.

Panelists discuss legal perspectives and firsthand accounts of the causes and consequences of women's imprisonment in Jamaica, drawing parallels with the challenges of women's imprisonment in the United States and worldwide. Presented as part of the ongoing Sackler Center series "States of Denial: The Illegal Incarceration of Women, Children, and People of Color."
