People's Ball Brings Catwalk To Brooklyn Public Library

Strut, book nerds. Strut.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Time to stomp it out, book nerds.

The Brooklyn Public Library is hosting the first ever People's Ball — a celebration of personal, not celebrity, style — at the Central Branch on Saturday night, officials announced.

"The People's Ball: A Night of Style, Imagination, Freedom and You" is free to all those who want to show of their "beautiful, courageous, and spirited personal style," the Brooklyn Public Library organizers wrote.

"Special guests punctuate the evening with public addresses on why authentic self-expression matters so deeply at a time when personal freedom is at stake," they added. "Think Revolution in Heels."

The free event at the 10 Grand Army Plaza branch will feature a cash bar, guest speakers and a catwalk-like runway open "for anyone who wants to shine on it."
