Based on 25 letters from women answering the question “What is paradise for you?”, this work explores the diasporic experience of carrying paradise in the body.

Choreography and Direction: Rebeca Medina. Text: Alex Borinsky. Performers: Carly Czach, Molly Schaffner and Juanita Barrera. Visual Artist: Jodi Connelly. Sound designer: John Stanesco. Lights designer: Fred Hatt. Costumes: Tatyana Tenenbaum.

As rent skyrockets, join curators anthonywash.rosado and McKenzie Angelo Seecharan (MAS) and engage with interactive multimedia performances and installations that reflect on progress through the lens of gentrification. With the audience, they will critically look back in order to move forward.

THE SCHEDULE:

- Opening / Past : March 5, 6-9pm
Multimedia installation and performances by McKenzie Angelo, Anthony Rosado, Chazz Giovanni Bruce, Wayne Arthur Paul, Stefa. Music by: Lamar Stephens.

- Sharing / Present : March 12, 1-4pm
This is a town meeting and art share for organizations, tenant councils, native residents, and POC identified artists currently engaged in the fight against displacement and racial and economic inequality. This is a space for questioning, healing through storytelling, coalition building, information sharing, and artistic expression.
*Community lunch (food will be provided) with facilitated conversation
