Join a lively and critical discussion about creating art that actually represents the world we live in.

Come kick off our new book fair! While Hollywood struggles to imagine stories in which people of color live everyday lives, these contemporary authors build diverse casts of characters effortlessly. Join Tanwi Nandini Islam (Bright Lights) and Daniel Jose Older (Bone Street Rumba series) in a lively and critical discussion on creating art that represents the world we live in, and how a changing Brooklyn is at the center of their work. Moderated by Ashley C. Ford (see photo)

Event will be held in the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd floor at 7pm.
