2 Legionnaires’ Disease Cases Confirmed At Queens Apartment Complex

The city's health department has said there is no risk to the surrounding community.

QUEENS, NY — Two case cases of Legionnaires' disease has been confirmed among residents at a Queens apartment building, according to the New York City Department of Health.

The two people are residents of North Shore Towers.

The health department said that Legionella bacteria has not been confirmed in the apartment complex and there is no risk to the community.

Earlier this summer, Legionnaires’ disease killed 11 people on the Upper East Side. In the Bronx, two people died from the disease.
