Baseball Bat Assault In Queens Leaves Man Dead: Police

QUEENS, NY— A man died after a road rage confrontation escalated into a fatal baseball bat attack on the Belt Parkway in Queens early Sunday, police reported.

NYPD responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress on the eastbound Belt Parkway near Exit 21B shortly after 1 a.m.

Officers found 47-year-old Crisanie Dockery unconscious and unresponsive with severe head injuries.

Emergency crews took him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Police also found a 39-year-old man with minor injuries to one arm. Authorities did not identify him.

According to law enforcement sources, an attacker struck Dockery and the second man with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene in a blue vehicle.

Police have not announced any arrests or released a description of the suspect.

Investigators are searching for the driver of a blue vehicle seen leaving the scene after the assault.

The investigation remains active, and police have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation or whether the people involved knew each other.
