Antisemitic Graffiti And Swastikas Found Across Queens, 4 Suspects Wanted

QUEENS, NY — Police are looking for suspects who vandalized a number of synagogues and homes in Queens with antisemitic graffiti on Monday.

The string of incidents happened in Forest Hills and Rego Park beginning around 1:15 a.m.

A swastika and "Hitler" was sprayed outside the Rego Park Jewish Center located at 97-30 Queens Blvd.

According to police, the act was caught on surveillance video. The suspects are believed to be four teens.

The four suspects also vandalized the Congregation Machane Chodosh, located at 67-29 108th St. in Forest Hills.

A black swastika was sprayed on the exterior of the building.

The same suspects are accused of vandalizing a parked car, a nearby home and a garage door, police said.

New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, along with Council members Lynn Schulman and Phil Wong, issued a joint statement.

"We are in contact with the NYPD, which is investigating and searching for at least four individuals responsible for the terrible incidents. The graffiti will be removed once the investigation is complete. With antisemitism on the rise here and across the globe, we will always stand up for our Jewish community and fight back against hate."

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also issued a statement.

"I am horrified and angered by the swastikas painted on homes and synagogues in Queens, including on a plaque honoring survivors of Kristallnacht. This is not just vandalism — it is a deliberate act of antisemitic hatred meant to instill fear.

There is no place for antisemitism in Queens or anywhere in our city. I stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors. Their safety, dignity, and belonging are non-negotiable.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating, and I am confident those responsible will be held accountable."

No arrests have been made yet. An investigation remains ongoing.
