ABOUT: Headwall Theatre Company’s revival of The Comeuppance marks its first production in the five boroughs since its 2023 premiere at Signature Theatre. On the night of their 20th high school reunion, the self-proclaimed “Multi-Ethnic Reject Group” gathers for the first time in years to pregame the party. As jungle juice and weed flow, they reminisce, wrestle with the fickleness of memory, and try to reconcile who they once were with who they have become. But when one unexpected guest forces a reckoning with the past, the evening takes a haunting, funny, and deeply unsettling turn. The Comeuppance is a darkly comic meditation on friendship, mortality, and time.
