QUEENS, NY — A Queens man has been identified as the victim killed early Sunday in what police are calling a hit-and-run. Azeemuddin Jalaluddin, 54, of Jamaica, was crossing 153rd Street just before 12:45 a.m. Sunday when a dark colored Honda Pilot barreled into him, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call found Jalaluddin unconscious and unresponsive at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and 153rd Street. He had suffered "severe trauma about the body," and emergency workers declared him dead at the scene, police said in a release.

The driver of the Honda, which had New York license plates, did not stop at the scene.
