Queens Nonprofits Awarded Thousands Of Dollars Through Cultural Fund
Astoria Film Festival, Queens Historical Society, Queens College Foundation, and the Queens County Farm Museum were among the grantees.

QUEENS — Several Queens organizations were awarded different sums of money through New York City’s cultural development fund, Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs announced Thursday.
Astoria Film Festival, Queens Historical Society, Queens College Foundation, and the Queens County Farm Museum were among the grantees.
“We have been doing our workforce development work as a labor of love the past few years, and we were not sure if we could continue, given that it was all run through volunteer work and minimal funds,” said Nina Fiore EdM, founding director, Astoria Film Festival. “With this award, we are heartened to know that we can continue and even expand our programming.”

Organizations including the Queensboro Dance Festival received between $10,000 and $20,000 from the city, while the Queens Symphony Orchestra received more than $100,000.
