Teen Impaled On Queens Fence In Blizzard Aftermath; FDNY Responds

A teen was impaled on an iron fence in front of an Elmhurst home Monday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

QUEENS, NY — Firefighters sprang into action to rescue a teen girl who was impaled on a fence while playing around with friends in Queens following Monday’s blizzard, police said.

When FDNY firefighters and EMS personnel arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, they found a teen girl's leg pierced by a fence spike in front of 41-30 Judge St. in Queens, between Baxter and Pettit Avenues, officials said.

The teen sustained a laceration behind her right knee while attempting to climb the fence, an NYPD spokesperson said.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday, police said.
