The two-year-old boy had previously been on life support, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A 2-year-old boy has died after his father allegedly beat him at a Queens homeless shelter over the weekend.

The two-year-old boy had been on a ventilator since Monday after suffering severe injuries including a blown pupil, brain damage, fractured pelvis, and a lacerated liver, among others, prosecutors said.

Morrison was arrested on Monday after he brought the boy back to his mother's house and a witness noticed the boy's injuries and called police. He has been charged with attempted murder and assault, but those are expected to be upgraded after the boy's death.
