Woman, 36, Fatally Struck By Pickup Truck Fleeing Police In Queens

QUEENS, NY — A 36-year-old bicyclist was killed when she struck by a pickup truck who was fleeing police on Tuesday, police announced.

The victim was hit at the corner of 37th Street and 34th Avenue around 11 p.m., police said.

Police had been in pursuit of a black Dodge Ram after responding to a 911 report of a burglary at a nearby home.

The 36-year-old victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspects fled the scene, police said. Three individuals were in the vehicle.

The pickup truck was later found abandoned on Newtown Road. According to multiple media reports, the vehicle may have been stolen.

The woman's identity has not been released pending family notification, police said.
