Woman Arrested After Setting 3 Fires In NYC

Charges are pending against the arsonist.

QUEENS, NY — A woman has been arrested after intentionally setting three fires in Queens Monday night.

The first fire occurred at a restaurant located at 60-92 Flushing Ave. in Maspeth around 9 p.m., police said.

The fire quickly spread to the second floor where a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman suffered injuries trying to escape the blaze.

The woman then allegedly set fires at the Maspeth Jewish Center located on Grand Avenue and a nearby funeral home.

One firefighter also suffered injuries and taken to a local hospital.

The woman was taken into custody shortly after setting the third fire, police said.

Charges are pending as of Tuesday afternoon against the woman.

An investigation remains ongoing.
