2 Busted For Selling Alcohol To Minors In Riverhead: Police

Two were nabbed in an enforcement effort to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors in Riverhead, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY— Two clerks were charged with selling alcohol to minors in Riverhead Tuesday, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's Community Oriented Policing Enforcement, or COPE, division, in cooperation with the Riverhead Community Awareness Program, conducted an investigation into Riverhead businesses, authorities said.

German Gomez, 58, an employee of the Riverhead Deli and Market on Railroad Avenue, and Magdalena Madrid Tobar, 26, who works at the Pueblo Latino Deli on East Main Street, were both arrested and charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.
