2 Riverhead Businesses Found In Compliance During SLA Check: Police
Other violations were uncovered at one of the locations during the check, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A New York State Liquor Authority check found two Riverhead businesses to be in compliance, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the operation took place on Friday at 9:42 p.m., when SLA checks took place at TGI Fridays and Vines & Hops.
Members the Riverhead Town Police Department's COPE Unit, in conjunction with New York State Liquor Authority and Riverhead Town Fire Marshall, conducted the compliance checks, targeting the sale of alcohol to patrons under the age of 21, police said.

TGI Fridays, located at 1480 Old Country Road, and Vines & Hops, located at 127 East Main Street in Riverhead, were checked and both locations were found to be in compliance, police said.
After an inspection of both establishments, Vines & Hops was issued summonses by the town fire marshall for various New York State fire code violations, police said. The business was also found to be in violation by the New York State Liquor Authority of failing to conform to licensing conditions, police said.

The checks are done in partnership with the Riverhead Community Coalition for Safe & Drug Free Youth and Riverhead CAP with funding provided through the federal STOP Act, which stands for Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking, police said.
