2 Robbed Of Cash In Riverhead Park: Police

The robberies took place on Halloween night, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Two people were robbed in a Riverhead park on Halloween night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place Sunday at 9:39 p.m.; two people flagged down a patrol officer on East Main Street to say they were robbed by two males in hooded sweatshirts in Grangebel Park.

The two people were together; one had $180 stolen and the other, $300, police said.

No weapons were displayed and no injuries were reported, police said.

A New York State Police K-9 was contacted and searched the area but no one was found, police said.
