2 Steal More Than $2.5K In Vape, CBD Products From Smoke Shop: PD
The burglary took place early Thursday, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — Two young men stole more than $2,500 of vape and CBD products from a Riverhead smoke shop early Thursday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 1:26 a.m. about a commercial burglary at Bapa Vapor and Smoke Shop on Old Country Road.
The owner of the business received notification that the alarm system had been activated, and upon viewing the surveillance system remotely, he observed the pair breaking the glass on the front door and entering, police said.

Officers arrived and saw that front door glass had been broken and pushed in; it was evident that a variety of merchandise had been removed from behind the sales counter, police said.
A review of the surveillance system from within captured images of two males in their late teens to early twenties entering the front of the store and removing the merchandise; they left the shop before police arrived, authorities said.

A New York State Police K-9 unit responded and assisted in a search but no one was found, police said.
