2 Women Charged In Riverhead 7-Eleven Assault: Police

The women punched a male employee and stabbed him in the leg, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Two women have been arrested and charged with assaulting a Riverhead 7-Eleven employee in November, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Angie Vanegas, 19, and Iona Weston, 20, were arrested following an extensive investigation into an assault that occurred on November 13, 2021 at the 7-Eleven on Old Country Road. During that incident, a male employee was confronted by the two females, punched him, and stabbed in the leg, police said.

Vanegas and Weston, both of whom live in the Riverhead area, were arrested and charged with one count each of second-degree assault; both were held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court, police said.
