3 Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors In Riverhead Sweep: Police
BREAKING: Riverhead Police conducted a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check at 20 locations Friday, authorities said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A sweep of Riverhead establishments led to the arrest of three individuals charged with selling alcohol to minors Friday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, members of the COPE unit conducted a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check of 20 locations in town around 5 p.m., targeting the sale of alcohol to patrons under the age of 21.
Those arrested and charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child were Hasam Goksin, 54, of Riverhead, Ana Duran, 45, of Riverhead, and Asif Mehmood, 30, of Cutchogue, police said.

The three were arrested after compliance checks at the Aquebogue Mini Mart, located at 640 Main Road in Aquebogue, 7-Eleven, located at 162 Old Country Road in Riverhead, and Empire, located at 640 Old Country Road in Riverhead, police said.
All three subjects were processed and released on appearance tickets, police said.

The checks are part of an ongoing effort by the Riverhead Town Police Department to ensure New York State Liquor Authority and penal law compliance for the sale of alcohol to minors, police said.
