5 Things To Do Around Riverhead This Weekend
A host of activities are scheduled for Riverhead this weekend.

The sun is shining and Riverhead is bursting with signs of springtime -- and a full slate of activities to get residents out of the house for some fun. Here's a rundown of five things to do around town this weekend.
1) Arts and crafts fair: East End Arts will host an arts and crafts fair Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 141 East Main Street.
2) Opening of the new ballfields at EPCAL: Public officials including Supervisor Sean M. Walter and Riverhead Town board members, along with Riverhead Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, Ray Coyne, New York State Senator Ken LaValle, and Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski will come together Saturday for the grand opening of "Veterans Memorial Park." The event – kicking off at 10 a.m. – will also feature a dedication ceremony in memory of fallen veterans Sgt. Jonathan Keller and SFC Anthony Venetz, Jr. of Wading River. The park is a four-field complex that can host softball and baseball games; the facility is open to residents of all ages and income levels.
Participating in the event will be Little League teams, the VFW, Boy Scouts, local fire departments and other community groups. The official opening of the complex will conclude with four Little League baseball games.
3) American Cancer Society's Bark For Life: A Canine Event To Fight Cancer: The dog walk event, organized by the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, begins at 11 a.m and runs through 4 p.m Sunday at Martha Clara Vineyards. 4) Bring back expired or unwanted prescription drugs: The Riverhead Police Department, in conjunction with the United States Department of Justice/Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and numerous law enforcement agencies nationwide, has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day that will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Riverhead Police Department, located at 210 Howell Avenue in Riverhead.
5) See "Fiddler On The Roof": Riverhead High School's Blue Masques present "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Charles Cardona Auditorium at Riverhead High School on Saturday, April 27, May 3rd and May 4 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m.
The show is directed by Jessica Guadagnino and Dena Tishim with choreography by sophomore Victoria Carroll. Tickets are available for $8 in advance, or $10 at the door. Senior citizens can purchase tickets for $5 each. For more information, call 631-369-6750.
