RIVERHEAD, NY — The search is on for a chain rich in sentimental value that was lost Thursday night in Riverhead.
According to representatives from the Riverhead Little League organization, the chain was worn by a former Little Leaguer, 14, who was attending a varsity softball game, to support the team.
The teen "lost a very special necklace at Stotzky Park last night during the varsity softball senior game," the Riverhead Little League said. "The necklace belonged to his dad when he was a teenager and holds a tremendous amount of sentimental value to their family."
Anyone who finds the chain or who may have seen it around the park, is asked to reach out to Riverhead Little League on Facebook as soon as possible.
"Let’s help bring this important piece back home," a post on the Facebook page read Friday.
