RIVERHEAD, NY— Crowds gathered eagerly Tuesday for their first tastes of the burgers, shakes, fries and other delicious fare offered at the East End's inaugural Shake Shack, which held a grand opening at the new location at Tanger Riverhead.
In addition to a delicious menu, the grand opening included Shake Shack swag for the first 100 guests to make a purchase. In addition, the first 500 to arrive received a $5 voucher for their next visit.
Also, on opening day, $1 from every burger, hot dog and chicken sandwich was donated to the Church of the Harvest Food Pantry in Riverhead.
The eatery opened in a 3,100-square-foot space located in Tanger 2, at 1704 Tanger Mall Drive in Riverhead.
"Known for its made-to-order 100 percent Angus beef burgers, crispy chicken, crinkle cut fries and hand-spun shakes, Shake Shack brings its elevated take on American classics to one of Long Island’s premier shopping destinations," representatives said. "The new location further expands Tanger Riverhead’s growing mix of sought-after dining and lifestyle experiences for guests."

Founded in New York City, Shake Shack has become a global brand known for its premium ingredients, warm hospitality and uplifting community experiences, representatives said.
The Riverhead Shack will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, offering indoor dining and convenient grab-and-go options.
