Riverhead High School Celebrates Seniors’ Next Steps on College Gear Day

RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK—This spring before graduation, the Riverhead High School community came together to celebrate College Gear Day. Seniors proudly donned the apparel of the colleges and universities to which they committed following graduation.

“As students prepare to embark on the next step of their educational journeys, the destinations for Riverhead High School’s class of 2026 are wide-ranging, spanning the United States and reaching abroad,” said Charles Gassar, the Riverhead Central School District director of school counseling. “The day served as a celebration of our students’ hard work, achievements, and exciting futures as they prepare to leave Riverhead and begin a new chapter in their lives.”

Faculty and staff joined in the celebration as well, wearing apparel representing their alma maters and sharing the excitement of the graduating class.

“College Gear Day highlighted the strong sense of school pride, community, and support that continues to inspire Riverhead students as they pursue their goals beyond high school,” said Mr. Gassar.
